Bella Farrell
Bella has over 35 years’ experience of working with people at their most vulnerable and most resourceful in the public, private and charitable sector of Health and Social Care. Her career began when she worked as a Nurse and Midwife. She holds an MA in Health Management and is an accredited Executive, Resilience and Systemic Team Leadership Coach.
Her personal mission is to support others to live happier, more fulfilling lives and to be as healthy as they can be.
She is currently a director and CEO Health Connections LBG.

Mike Read
Mike grew up in Guernsey leaving to join the Royal Air Force in 1987. He returned home in 2000 and has been a commercial airline pilot for the last 25 years.
Family experiences of accessing health care for a daughter with a chronic health condition prompted Mike to set up the charity Cystic Fibrosis Guernsey.
Active involvement in the third sector has led to other roles including being the Health Representative for the Guernsey Disability Alliance (GDA )and Chair of the Guernsey Cancer Alliance (GCA).

David Inglis
David is currently the Chairman of Age Concern Guernsey whose primary role is to provide focus on issues within the community, helping members that require support or guidance. With in the charities overall umbrella, he also chair’s subcommittee’s ‘Ageing well in the Bailiwick ‘ together with the annual ‘ Winter Fuel Fund’ grant scheme which provides financial support helping those in need with heating costs.

Ian Carter
Ian is currently a Member of the States of Alderney where he has a brief for taking an overview of health-related issues and the development of an integrated care model.
Prior to moving to Alderney in 2014 he was involved in education in schools and universities and building community resilience in the UK. His focus is in supporting the development of a fully coordinated health and social care system in Alderney and to be the voice of the Alderney community to CareWatch.

Jenny Benjamin
Jenny has a background in nursing and health visiting and has supported the Personal, Social, and Health Education Programmes across primary, secondary, and private schools in Guernsey. As a Tribunal member on the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal, she understood the profound impact of social and health care on relationships, behaviour, education, and mental well-being. Currently, as Lead Volunteer for Health Connections Talking Cafes, Jenny directs individuals to community agencies for support and information, advocating for excellence in health and social care, prioritizing workforce value, and patient-centred services.

Molly Edington
Molly has lived in Guernsey since 2014 and has always had an interest in local healthcare. As a type 1 diabetic, Molly is not only committed to understanding the challenges faced by fellow diabetics and individuals with chronic conditions in accessing care, but she also extends her advocacy to promoting mental health awareness. Molly actively contributes to local charities, she is involved with organisations such as Sarnia Housing Association, Samaritans, and the Bailiwick of Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service.

Heather Reed
Heather moved to Guernsey in 1998 to take up a post as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and cared for the women of Guernsey for almost 20 years. Heather also worked as Honorary Consultant to the Southampton University Hospital Trust including the care of victims of sexual abuse and child abuse, during this time she became a Director of the Guernsey’s Women’s Refuge. Since her retirement, Heather has been elected as a jurat of the Royal Court and worked as a vaccinator with the CVC team during the Covid-19 pandemic. Heather has raised funds for several local charities and works a volunteer for Health Connections who signpost and assist people accessing various services in the community.

Sue Ryde
Sue’s interest in health issues stemmed from family experience leading to her joining HEAL, Health Equality For All, that campaigned to extend access to drugs and treatments for islanders. Off island treatment for a family member, increased her awareness of the challenges involved. She is currently a member of two support groups, the Guernsey Cancer Support Group and The Royal Osteoporosis Society Guernsey.
Her initial career was in education in the UK, Canada and Guernsey before managing an online retail operation on island. From 2013 to 2021, she was a Director of the Channel Island Cooperative Society.
Sue is a Civil Protection Volunteer and a committee member of the Retired States Employees' Association. She joined Citizens Advice Guernsey in 2022 as part of the Research and Campaigns team.
